COOKE, MR. ORA FLOYD - age 91, of Knoxville, formerly of Union County, passed away 1:06 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 1999, at Hillcrest North. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Cooke was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and a retired school teacher with over 40 years of service in Claiborne Co., Union Co. and Knox Co. schools, retired farmer and former trustee of Pleasant View Cemetery. Preceded in death by: father, Milton C. Cooke; mother, Maude Graves Cooke Barnes; brother, Roy J. Cooke; sister, Maggie Mae Monroe; half-sister, Myrtle June Cooke Porter. Survivors: wife, Mildred Cooke, Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Joan Cooke Holloway and William Holloway, Knoxville; grandchildren, Fred Holloway, Knoxville, Helen (Cookie) Reeves, Valdosta, Ga.; sister, Frances Cooke, Maynardville; half-sisters, LaVada Aker, Maynardville, Eleanor Howard, Sierra Vista, Ariz.; half-brothers, Milton C. Cooke, Jr., Maynardville, Ralph Barnes, Knoxville; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services and interment 4 p.m. Tuesday in Pleasant View Cemetery with Rev. John Thomerson officiating. Honorary pallbearer will be Charles Cliff. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Pleasant View Cemetery, Maintenance Fund, c/o Ralph Barnes, 7341 Melanie Lane, Knoxville, TN 37918. The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. Tuesday at Cooke Mortuary, Maynardville.
