Orlene "Rosemary" Fuller

SOUTH BEND - Orlene "Rosemary" Fuller, 88, formerly of North Illinois Street, South Bend, IN, passed away at 2:40 a.m., Friday, May 1, 2009, in the Healthwin Specialized Care Facility. Orlene was born on May 27, 1920, in McCune, KS, to Orlando Edward and Ada Ellen (Garretson) Baker. Orlene had lived in South Bend since 1953, coming from Whitehall, IL. She was the head cook for Coquillard School from 1965-1993. On July 20, 1939, as Rosemary Baker, she married Robert B. Fuller, who was born on April 11, 1914. Robert passed away on May 12, 1994. Orlene is survived by one daughter, Sharon L. Fuller of Port Orchard, WA; four sons, William E. "Bill" (Mary C.) Fuller of South Bend, IN, David L. Fuller of Austin, TX, Kirk R. (Debbie J.) Fuller of Mishawaka, IN, and Joseph W. "Joe" (Donna) Fuller of Elkhart, IN; three grandchildren, Nicholas "Nick" Fuller, Julie (Emanuel) Hernandez and Brittney Jo Fuller; and one brother, Wilbur Baker of Parsons, KS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Orlene was a Sunday School teacher at the First United Methodist Church in South Bend. She was also a cook for the Presbyterian Madrigal Christmas dinners for 11 years, a cook at Camp Millhouse, and a cook for the Boy Scouts at Camp Tamarack. She was a seamstress and reupholsterer in the Michiana area for 30 years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and loved teaching her children how to sew and cook.
