She never married.

In February 1891 she purchased the a lot of land lying on the West side of the road leading from Lumpkins' gate to Charles W. Gouldman's shop containing 11 acres and ¾ for $2.00.

Ann and her sister Lucy Jourdan were named in their mother's will dated March 5, 1891. Ann was living with her mother at the time the 1891 will was drawn.

Walter Scott Cash wrote that after his parents died in 1911 and 1912, he left the Cash Homestead in the care of an old-maid cousin named "Nannie Stern". This was Ann Eliza. Ann was enumerated as "Ann E. Stearn" in the 1920 Port Royal, Caroline County census. She was age 80, single, and living alone. The home which she rented appears to be the Cash Homestead.

She died after 1920 in Caroline County, VA and buried near her parents, Francis G. and Elizabeth Sterne in an unmarked grave.
