Billie Lee Ashford 68, of Shenandoah, IA, formerly of the Clarinda and Braddyville area, died Sunday August 22, 2004 at the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. He was born March 17, 1936, in Braddyville, Iowa, the son of Vern O. (Pete) Ashford and Grace (Anderson) Ashford.
Billie married Donna Rhoads who preceded him in death August 31, 2004. He had been a truck driver for the Sanitation Department in St. Joseph, Missouri. Billie served in the Army from 1954 to 158 and in the Navy from 1958 to 1960.
He is survived by a special friend Ethel Perdew of Shenandoah, IA, sons Billie O. Ashford and wife Terri of St. Joseph, MO, and James Ashford, step children: Rick Ninemires of Leona KS, Debbie Sale of St. Joseph, MO and Chrissie, two granddaughters and a sister Twila Annala and husband Albert of Arvada, CO.
Billie was preceded in death by his parents, wife Donna, brothers: Silas Ashford, Leo (Jack) Ashford and a sister Wanda Ashford.
Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 27, 2004 at the Braddyville Christian Church. Burial was in the Braddyville Cemetery.
