Melvin Edgar Doty, 78, a resident of Klamath Falls for the past 32 years died Sunday following a lenghty illness.
Mr. Doty was born in Jefferson on January 3, 1890. He lived and farmed in that area until 1926, when he moved to Longview, Washington as a roofer for the Johns-Manville Company.
In 1932 he transferred to Klamath Falls as an employee of Swan Lake Mouding and Big Basin Lumber Company. He retired in 1952.
He is survived by his wife, Maude, whom he married November 5, 1913 in Salem; two sons, Charles and Marvin and two grandchldren, Tanzie Mae and Jeffrey Norris Doty, all of Klamath Falls; and a brother Lindsey Doty of Eugene, Oregon.
