Joseph Cicero Daves lived in Fannin County. He had need to visit a Doctor and because the roads were not passible during the winter, traveled south by train to meet his son, Thomas. According to Stanley Daves, who was a young boy and present at the Blue Ridge train station, said Uncle Roy had 'plumbing problems' and needed to go to Atlanta to see a doctor. He must have been beyond help and died of prostrate complications.
