Albert enlisted on Feb 24, 1863 as a conscript and was sent to Camp Randolph in Gordon County, GA. He was assigned to Company G, 23rd (or 3rd) Georgia Infantry unit under the command of Captain Clayborn S. Sneed of Augusta, Richmond County, GA.
