McMinnville resident and DeKalb County native Eva Virginia Cantrell, 92, died unexpectedly March 23 at River Park Hospital.
A retired employee of Globe Insurance and a member of Central Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Cleveland Avant and Julia Estes Cantrell; and was preceded in death by her husband, J. Haskell Cantrell in 1988; sisters, Grace Bain and Bess Elmore, and brother, Clyde Cantrell.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, June and Hudson Sherrill of McMinnville; sister, Cornellia Braswell of Smithville; brother, Loyde Cantrell of Greenwood, S.C.; sister-in-law, Lorene Cantrell of Ooltewah; brother-in-law, Glen Elmore of Ft. Myers, Fla.; several nieces and two nephews.
Services were held Tuesday at Central Church of Christ with Kirk Brothers and Nestor Stewart officiating. Burial followed at Mt. View Cemetery.
High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
