He was born January 12, 1862, North West of Waymansville, Salt Creek Township, Jackson Co., Indiana. Here he grew to manhood and at the age of 24 years he married Permelia Ping of near Nashville (Pikes Peak) Brown Co., In. They lived in Jackson, Brown and Bartholmew counties in Indiana before going to Champaign County, Ill in the spring of 1909 and lived there until the spring of 1918 and then moved to Lake county, Ind. He passed away May 28, 1935 at the age of 73 years. Buried in Creston Cemetery, Creston, Ind. His wife(Permelia PING)passed away May 3, 1943 at the age of 78 years.
