A longtime Ness City resident, moving to Little River in 1990, she was a homemaker. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers, both at Ness City.
In October 1921 she married George Sauer at Ness City. He died Aug. 3, 1972.
Survivors include two sons, Robert, Lyons, and Wilbert, Coolidge, Ariz.; seven daughters, Leeta Jaques, North Fort Myers, Fla., Joan Katz, Deerfield, Elvira Entwisle, Snohomish, Wash., Irene Porter, Coolidge, Ariz., Peteronella Corn, Paradise, Calif., Velma Osborn, Kechi, and Mary Jane Carpenter, Bentley; a brother, Hy Leiker, Wichita; three sisters, Caroline Rupp, Ness City, Sister Petronella Leiker and Sister Hildegarde Leiker, both of Wichita; 36 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great- grandchildren.
Parish vigil will be at 7 p.m. today at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ness City, with Father Matthew Le presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in the cemetery.
