EMERY ELLIS SHELTEN
Emery Ellis Shelten was born near Weaubleau, Mo. on June 14 1904, the son of Joseph Sylvester and Charlottie Allen Shelten. He spent his youth on a farm near Weaubleau. He was united in marriage to MayBell Johnson on August 25 1924. To this union two children were born.
As a young man he became a Christian in 1926, then joined the Weaubleau Assembly of God Church on January 19 1961, where he served faithfully as a deacon for manyyears.
He worked in the lumber business for thirty years in Weaubleau where he will be missed by his many, many friends.
On January 7, 1976, at 9:30 a.m. Emery ws called Home after a brief illness. Preceding him in death were his parents, a son, Ray Ellis; three brothers, Jim, Orley and Delbert; and one sister, Leona Baxter.
He was loved and will be missed greatly by his wife, MayBell; his daughter, Beulah; one brother, Dolsie, and four sisters, Eva Strahan, Nola Cauthon all of Weaubleau, Emma Reno of Wheatland, Vangy Murpy of Holden and two grandchildren, Charlotte Marie and Oliver Ellis, both of Weaubleau, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
