Ray W. Earp, a longtime resident of Stroud, now of Cushing, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2006 in Cushing at the age of 86 years.
The son of the late Otto Earp and Fannie Cummings Earp, Ray was born on May 17, 1920 in Avery, OK and was reared and educated in Stroud.
In addition to his farming, he had worked in the oilfield as a pumper.
Ray was known by his family and friends as a man that enjoyed writing stories and poems; his art and painting.
Survivors include one brother, Otis Earp and his wife Ruth of Cushing; one sister Elsie F. Holten and her husband Ray of Modesto, CA; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, Paul and Marvin and three sisters, Thelma, Goldie and Clema.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 11 A.M. in the Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, Cushing, with Reverend Kevin Clouse, pastor of the First Church of God, officiating.
