Mr. Figart, 63, of the Green Avenue Tower died at 2 a.m., Sunday, April 15, 1984, in the James E. VanZandt VA Medical Center, after an extended illness.
Mr. Figart retired as a self-employed general contractor in April 1983.
He was born Apirl 13, 1921, in Altoona, the son of James [sic] M. and Ellen (Horton) Figart, and Oct 12, 1946, in Altoona, married Eleanor Jane Gorsuch.
Surviving are his wife, two children; James A in Texas and Laurie J. of Altoona, and a grandson.
Also surviving are seven brothers and sister: Gladys Kerrigan and Alice Leas of Scranton, Rebecca E. Winters and Bertha of Altoona, Ruth L. Shaw of Lakemont, Donald G. of Atlantic Beach, Fla., and the Rev. Thomas O. of Lancaster.
Mr. Figart was a member of the First Baptist Church.
He was a volunteer with the American Red Cross Bloodmobile adn had been a scoutmaster at St. Therese Catholic Church for four years.
He was an Army Air force veteran of World War II serving with the 85th Depot Repair Squadron.
Friends will be received from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the William G. Bigelow Funeral Home.
