She was born Dec. 5, 1903, in Moosic, a daughter of James M. and Ellen (Horton) Figart, and April 6, 1939 in Altoona married Andrew K. Karmendi, who died Aug. 20, 1960.
Surviving are three foster children, John A. Henry of Bowie, Md., Thomas A. Henry, of New Jersey, and Mrs. Margaret R Shaffer of Altoona, and eight brothers and sisters, Mrs. Gladys Kerigan and Mrs. Alice Leas of Scranton, Mrs. Rebecca E Winters, Miss Bertha and James A of Altoona, Mrs. Ruth L. Shaw of Lakemont, Donald G. of Atlantic Beach, Fla., and the Rev. Thomas O. of Lancaster.
Mrs. Karmendi was a member of the Bell Avenue Baptist Church. Friends will be received in the Bigelow Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Interment in Carson Valley Cemetery.

Of 2123 Seventh avenue, died at the Mercy hospital at 10:05 o'clock Saturday morning after having been ill for the past eight weeks. He was born on July 15, 1870, a son of Alexander and Rebecca (Graff)Figart, and was employed by the Altoona & Logan Valley Electric Railway company as a motorman for many years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ellen Figart, seven daughters and three sons,Mrs.Charles Kerrigan of Scranton, Margaret, Bertha, Alice and Ruth, at home, Mrs. Rebecca Winters and Mrs. Louisa Henry of the city, James, Donald and Thomas, all at home; seven grand children, six brothers and two sisters, Joseph F., Edward, Howard and Harry, all of the city, Charles of Alba, and Morton of Richmond, Va., Mrs. Viola Greenleaf of New York City and Mrs. Martha Kephart of Fredericksburg. The body may be viewed at the Gilden funeral home where services will be held at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.
