Services will be private for Dorothea K. Cowell, 96, of 2740 Centennial St., who died Sunday at Cayuga County Nursing Home. Burial will be in Weedsport Rural Cemetery.
There will be no callings hours. Mrs. Cowell was a life resident of the Weedsport area. She was employed many years with Morrison's Ladies Apparel and the Winton Shoppe. She was the widow of Ralph Cowell.
Mrs. Cowell was the oldest member of First Presbyterian Church of Weedsport and its Women's Christian League. She also was a member of Weedsport Chapter, OES.
Surviving are a son, John L. of Weedsport; a daughter, Harriett Walker of Palm Bay, Fla.; two sisters, Florence Anson of Webster and Barbara Klumpp of Auburn; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Weedsport.
