Mrs. Bernice Marie Killam, age 61, a native of Baldwin County and a resident of Pensacola, Florida, died June 3. Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M. on June 6 from the First Christian Church in Robertsdale with Rev. Jimmy Stovall officiating. Interment was in Baldwin Memorial Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Elton K. Killam, Pensacola; six daughters, Elaine Walker, Robertsdale, Wanda Greer and Wynell Austin, both of Atlanta, Gloria Furgason, Daphne, Sandar Killam, Tampa, Florida and Sherri Killam, Pensacola, Florida; three sons, Elton W. Killam and Kenneth N. Killam, both of Pensacola, and Donald E. Killam, St. Petersburg, Florida; two brothers, Claude Bankester, Daphne and Eamel Bankester, Slidell, Louisiana; seven grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were by Mack Funeral Home, Robertsdale.

Excerpt from The Independent, Robertsdale, Alabama, June 6, 1984 …State Troopers said a Pensacola woman died in a one-car accident on Interstate 10, east of the Wilcox exit, at approximately 4:40 p.m. Sunday when her car left the road and struck a tree.
Mack said Bernice Bankester Killam, 67, formerly of Robertsdale, died at the scene of the afternoon accident while pinned in the wreckage of her car.
