Marguerette was the daughter of George Peardon and Daisy Secrist. She married Fred Ayers on Dec. 13, 1928 in Carrollton, IA. They were the parents of 10 children: Rita (Carl Morlan), Mary( Weaver), Fred, George, Daisy (Levi Hansen), Barbara (David Kolsen), Dennis, Linda (Steve Allen), Paul, and one more.

Jefferson Herald - Thursday , July 24th, 1997 - Services were held Monday, July 2 1 , from the Slininger-Rossow Chapel in Jefferson for Marguerette Grace Ayers, 85, longtime area resident
Robert Clark of the Church of God in Omaha, NE, officiated. Kenneth E. Morlan was soloist, with Rebecca Franzeen as organist. Mrs Ayers' grandsons were honorary casket bearers. Cremation was to follow the service, with burial of cremains at a later dale in Scranton Township Cemetery at Scranton.

Marguerette Grace Ayers, daughter of George and Daisy (Secrist) Peardon, was born Aug. 8, 1911, at a home in Greene county. She attended high school in Bayard. Marguerette married Fred E. Ayers of Coon Rapids at the Old Carrollton Methodist Church in Old Carrollton on Dec. 13, 1928.

They were the parents of 10 children. Marguerette was a mother and homemaker. In later years she worked at the Bayard Nursing Home. She also worked at Bayard Produce for several years where she cleaned chickens.

Marguerette died July 17, 1997, at Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband in 1984; two sons, Paul and Duane; a daughter-in-law, Sharon; three sons-in-law, Daniel Weaver, Levi Hansen and Carl Morlan; two grandchildren, Annie Morlan and Sherry Booth; and two sisters, Alma Prescott and Esther Peardon.

Survivors include sons and daughters: Rita Morlan of Scranton, Mary Weaver of Omaha, NE, Fred Ayers Jr and his wife Harriette of Carroll, George and his wife Janice of Lincoln, NE, Daisy Hansen of Springfield, MO, Barbara Kolsem and her husband David of Cambridge, IA, Dennis Ayers and his wife Helen of Bayard, and Linda Allen and her husband Steve of Beebc, AR; 26 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Catharine PIant and Ada Jones, both of Jefferson; and several nieces and nephews.
