Fred was the son of John Ayers and Sarepta May Sigler. He married Marguerette Peardon on Dec. 13, 1928. They were the parents of 10 children: Rita (Carl Morlan), Mary( Weaver), Fred, George, Daisy (Levi Hansen), Barbara (David Kolsen), Dennis, Linda (Steve Allen), Paul, and one more.

Jefferson Bee - Tuesday , August 21st, 1984 - Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 20, from the Slininger Chapel in Jefferson for Fred E. Ayers, 85, longtime area resident. The Rev Ray Bingham, pastor of the Jefferson Gospel Open Bible Church, officiated. Kenneth E. Morlan was soloist, with Valeria West as organist. Honorary casket bearers were Edward Lyons, Karl Shirbroun, James Ramaekers, Elwood Battles and Harley Dillavou. Casket bearers were Steve
Morlan, Martin Ayers, Mike Ayers, Jeff Morlan, Mark Hansen and Daniel Weaver. Interment
was in Scranton Township Cemetery at Scranton.

Fred Elwin Ayers, son of John and Serepta Sigler Ayers of Coon Rapids, died at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson Aug. 17. He was born Jan. 18, 1899, in Carroll county and
spent his boyhood days around Creston and Coon Rapids where he attended country school.
On Dec. 13, 1928, Fred was united in marriage with Marguerette Peardon of Bayard. He was a farmer most of his adult life in Greene, Guthrie and Dallas counties. Fred attended the
Jefferson Gospel Open Bible Church.

Mr and Mrs Ayers were the parents of 10 children, two of whom preceded him in death; along with his parents; three brothers, Martin, Frank and Harold; three sisters, Sadie, Annie and Myrtle; one daughter-in-law; one son-in-law; and two granddaughters.

Mr Ayers is survived by his wife Marguerette; his children: Rita (Mrs Carl) Morlan of Glidden, Mary Weaver of Omaha, NE, Fred of Carroll, George of Lincoln, NE, Daisy -(Mrs Levi) Hansen of Ankeny,
"Barbara (Mrs David) Kolsen of Cambridge, Dennis of Bayard, : and Linda (Mrs Steve) Allen of
.Jacksonville, AR ; 26 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Walter of Yakima, WA; two sisters, Mrs May Moreland of Leon and Margie (Mrs Harold) Hellman of Grand Junction; and many nieces and nephews.
