Funeral rites for Miss Martha Patton Pryor, 32, were held Monday morning on the Pryor plantation several miles south of Athens. Miss Pryor, who had not fully recovered from a serious four months illness this past summer, was found dead about five o'clock on Friday afternoon at the Pryor plantation where she was born and reared.
The daughter of Mrs. L. P. Shaw and the late Luke Pryor, Miss Pryor was educated at Winston-Salem, N.C., Ward-Belmont in Nashville, Tennessee and had attended a school of art in New York City.
The service was conducted by Rev. W. W. Glass, of the First Presbyterian Church of Decatur, of which Miss Pryor had long been a member. Interment was in the Athens City Cemetery here, Brown directing.
Miss Pryor is survived by her mother and one brother, Luke Pryor IV.
