MIDLAND - Wilbur Rudolph Crowe, 89 of Paradise Street, Midland, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 1995, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born April 17, 1906, in Finzel, he was the son of the late Floyd E. Crowe and Margaret (McKenzie) Crowe. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary P. (McVeigh) Crowe in 1969 and one daughter, Marie Crowe Drew.
Mr. Crowe was a retired sexton after 25 years of service from St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Midland. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Holy Name Society.
He also was the oldest living member of the Midland Volunteer Fire Company and was a member since July 15, 1931.
Surviving are four sons, Wilbur J. Crowe and wife, Rose M., Midland; Donald G. Crowe and wife, Joan M. Midland; Michael Clark Crowe and wife Arlyne, Cleveland, Ohio; Edward J. Crowe and wife, Joan, Cresaptown, one daughter, Mrs. Frances Crowe Kenner, Midland; eight grandchildren Debbie Bennett and Mary Frances Skidmore, whom he helped rear and Denise Marie Crowe, Cynthia Marie Crowe Minnich, Julie Crowe, Greg James Crowe, Mary Beth Johnson, Tina Louise Condon; three step grandchildren, Phyllis Wansley, Patty Fiorita, Ronnie Weimer and 16 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, Lonaconing, on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Midland, on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Father Jack Lombardi officiating.
Interment will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Midland.
Pallbearers will be members of the Midland Volunteer Fire Company.
The Midland Volunteer Fire Company and Ladies Auxiliary will hold joint memorial services at the funeral home on Friday at 7 p.m.
A Christian wake service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 7:30 p.m. by Sr. Joan Maenner.
