On February 23, 1881, he was married at Norfolk, this state, to Martha C. Ransdell. To this union seven children were born. Namely: Mrs Arthur Higbee, Mrs J. H. Buffington, Cora, Irvin and Donald, all of this community. Robert died in infancy and Cell at the age of 21. Besides his five children he has left to morn their loss, his devoted wife, two brothers, one sister, and eight grandchildren. About two years ago he was found to be suffering from an incurable disease. Since that time everything known to the medical profession has been done to prolong his life. His loved ones were constantly at his bedside and tenderly anticipated every wish and performed every duty. Finally at 3:30 Wednesday morning surrounded by all his dear ones, a merciful providence relieved him of his suffering and born him to that rest provided for those who died in the Lord. His last days were filled with a abiding faith in Him. "Who doeth all things well." His many friends made by his long residence here can best attest to his integrity and kindly life. The heartfelt sympathies of a host of friends and neighbors go out to these sorrowing ones in their bereavement.
Funeral services will be held in the M.E. Church Friday morning at 11 o'clock. He was buried at the Best Cemetery.
