MARS - E. Madge McElravy, 100, formerly of Sligo, died at 11 p.m. Monday, June 1, 1992, at St. John Lutheran Care Center in Mars. Born July 25, 1891, in Monroe Township, Clarion County, she was a daughter of the late Ambrose B. and Mary N. Over Lerch. She was married to Cyril C. McElravy on June 15, 1920. He preceded her in death in February 1969. Mrs. McElravy was a grade school teacher and had taught at various schools throughout the Sligo area. She was a member of the Sligo Presbyterian Church and was the last charter member of the Sligo chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are one son, Charles C. McElravy of Glenshaw; and two daughters, Jean Pendleton and Lois Lucas, both of Glenshaw. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, June 4, in the Varner Funeral Home in Sligo. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, June 5, in the funeral home. The Rev. Brian Clark, pastor of Sligo Presbyterian Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery in Sligo. Memorials may be made to the Sligo Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
