Killed when a car driven by her was in a collision on State Road 130 Saturday at 4:10 p.m. on a curve near the Richmond farm, just east of Wheeler, IN., from which she suffered a cervical fracture and broken neck. Memorial services held on August 26, 1940 at 2 o'clock p.m., at the Presbyterian church, conducted by Rev. Edward W. Streckler, retired Methodist minister. The body was sent at 8:59, CST, that evening to Sligo, PA for burial. She was survived by her mother, Mrs. Mary Lerch of Sligo, Pa., four brothers (three of Sligo, PA and one of Pittsburgh, PA); five sisters (two in Detroit, one in Pittsburgh, and two at Sligo); 14 nieces and five grand nieces and nephews. Her only relatives in Vaplaraiso, IN were her nephew and his wife, H. Eugene Jessup, of 108 Monroe St.

Myra was born in Pennsylvania and went to Valparaiso about 1914 to attend the Valparaiso university. About 1920-1940, she had been employed as a bookkeeper at the Foster Lumber and Construction company. She was a member of the Presbyterian church; Easter Star chapter, of which she was a past worthy matron; Sphinx club; Business and Professional Women's club of which she was president, and the Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem and Gary. She owned the apartment building at 108 Monroe street.
