He was born February 18, 1929 in Vernal, Utah to John Clive Davis and Ellen Christina Sainsbury. Married Ellen Elizabeth Thomas September 16, 1966 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He is survived by his wife and three children, John Mark Thomas, Karen Elizabeth Boyd (Michael John), Celesta Ann, all attending BYU. He is also survived by two sisters, Carma Rae Black and Thelma Nielsen. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rita Cockayne.
He served an LDS mission to the Hawaiian Islands. He attended school at the U of U, and SUSC and was in the army stationed at Albuquerque, New Mexico. He lived in Los Angeles, California for 35 years and was co-owner and manager of the Los Angeles West Travelodge. He had a beautiful tenor voice and gave freely of his talents to both the community and his church. He loved all things beautiful and was an avid photographer. He had a voracious mind and was a scholar in science and history and was fascinated with electronics and computers.
Funeral services 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 5, at the Memorial Estates Chapel, 5850 So. 9th East, where friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to service. Interment at the Murray City Cemetery.
