The Pearce Family: Dennis & Mary along with the parents of
Dennis, Aaron & Hannah Pearce and other family members left Ohio intending to go to Iowa where they settled. For some reason they stopped for nearly a year in Bloomington, McLean Co., Illinois. They resumed their journey and arrived in Cedar Co., Iowa in the fall of 1854. Dennis, the father died in 1855 leaving Mary Pollock Pearce to raise her family.
It must have been difficult to leave the grave of their small daughter knowing they would probably never see that place again.
Siblings of: Margaret Catherine Pearce: Andrew 1834, Elizabeth 1836, Hannah 1838, Aaron & James [twins] 1840, Sarah Jane 1841, Mary Ann 1845, Dennis Kline 1848.
