Andrew Wallace returned home to his loving Father in Heaven on April 11, 2009 at his home. He resided at 6389 South Ole's Lane (2680 East) in Holladay, Utah at the time of his death.

Andrew, the son of George Robert Wallace and Rachel Josephine Helm Wallace, was born in Bear River, Utah on May 21, 1920.

He was raised in Murray, Utah on the family farm, where he cultivated an appreciation and talent for agriculture and animals - his dogs Suzy, Rusty, Sparky, Josie and Buddy Boy, as well as his horse Pal, were his faithful companions throughout his life.

He graduated from Granite High School in 1939 and married his sweetheart Marie, in the Salt Lake Temple on October 16, 1941. She preceded him in death on May 1, 1997. Andrew was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Jr. and three sisters, Ardella, Rachel and May.

Andrew served honorably in the US Navy from 1944-1946 during WWII. He loved his country and served with all his heart.

He was equally devoted to his career at Kennecott Copper for 43 years, where he worked as a master craftsman and sheet metal worker. A talented mathematician, Andrew received the Governor's Craftsman award from the Utah Copper Division of Kennecott Minerals Company.

He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: he loved his Saviour, honored his priesthood, served his church as a stake welfare clerk for many years, as well as was Young Men's President and was a devoted home teacher. He loved working on the Stake Welfare Farm and kept the stake farm records. Both Andrew and his wife Marie served in the Salt Lake Temple together. His family was everything to him and he loved each one unconditionally.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter and shared his love of the outdoors with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they grew to adulthood. We will miss his guidance, strength, patience and immense talent as we continue to honor him through the annual planting of our special vegetable garden.

Andrew is survived by his son Steven Robert Wallace (Barbara) and his daughters Linda Jean Taylor (Vaughn) and Andrea Belcher (Steven). He has 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
