Nellie Hersley, 87

Nellie Hersley, 87, of Greensburg passed away on April 16 at the Heritage House.

She was born on Nov. 17, 1921 in Rush County the daughter of Frank and Nora (Hankins) Lee. She married Bennie E. Hersley on May 29, 1947 in Greensburg and he preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1997.

Nellie worked at Randall's and was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church of Greensburg.

Survivors include: sons, Kenneth (Deborah) Frazier of Columbus, Gary (Angie) Hersley of Greensburg; daughter, Judy Burton of Greensburg; grandchildren, Chris (Stacy) Frazier, Sherry (Scott) Seavers, Kelly (Colin) Hudson, Tina (Tim) Tallent, Michele (Corky) Owens, Benjamin (Jill Myers) Hersley, Caroline Hersley; and 16 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by, her parents; husband; several brothers and sisters; son-in-law, Jason E. Burton; grandsons, Kevin Carpenter and Robert Stout, Jr.; granddaughter, Brooke Hersley, and a great grandson, Kian Carpenter.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 19 at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral and from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 20. Rev. Hobart Brandenburg will be officiating. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery.
