Funeral Services for Jessie Frentress Hagood, 80, of Kaufman, formerly of Athens are scheduled for 2 p.m., on Thursday in Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Ash Cemetery.Mrs. Hagood died April 11, 2009, in Kaufman.She was born July 13, 1928, to the late Laban Tillery and Jessie Mamie Gartman Frentress.Mrs. Hagood was a resident of Kaufman for the past 12 years. She was a Christian who loved to sing and play the piano as well as being an avid quilter and crocheter. She was very resourceful and an extremely dedicated mother.Mrs. Hagood was preceded in death by husband Leon Douglas Hagood, in 1989; daughter, Martha Carolyn Skiles, in 2004; sister, Wilma Joyce Waite, in 1980; and sons Michael Douglas Hagood, in 1994; and James Earl Hagood, in 1998.She is survivored are her daughter and son-in-law, Selena Barnes and husband Jeff, in Kaufman; Paula Hagood, in Athens; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark Hagood and wife Casandra; Jerome Hagood and wife, Rhonda, both of Dallas; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Easter Belle Washington, of Athens; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of good friends.Pallbearers will be Rodney Collup, Dustin Byrd, Jordan Barnes, Chad Pettiete, Truman Washington, Jeremy Muller.
