Margaret Rose Martin Rice, 82,died at 8:57 AM, Saturday, Aug 28, 1983 at Oak Hill Osteopathic Hospital, Joplin, MO, after two weeks of illness.
Mrs. Rice was born Aug 10, 1901 in Galena. She had lived in Galena for most of her life. She was employed as a nurse-aide at Barkers Rest Home for several years and was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She married Alfred Rice on Aug 15, 1921, in Galena. He died on May 25, 1946.
Survivors include one son, Lewis Dean Rice, Las Vegas; four daughters, Mrs. Violet Anderson, Trona, Calif., Mrs. Norma Jean Johnson, Mrs. Genevieve Meier, and Mavis Rice, all of Witcha; two brothers, Walter Martin, Trona, Calif., and Noah Martin Jr., Galena; two sisters, Mrs. Verna Cagle, Galena, and Mrs. Ohnes Shaw, Rialto, Calif., 14 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday at the Assembly of God Church with Dr. John Eller officiating and Rev. Don Anderson assisting. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Larry Huffman, Doyle Johnson, James Meier, Norman Fry, Fred Deaver and Norman Buttrum.
