Virgil Gerald Baker, 74 of Pocahontas, passed away Tuesday of last week at his home here. He was born in Pocahontas, Feb. 9, 1902 a son of the late Edgar Allen and Clara Frances Bailey Baker. Survivors include a brother, Sydney Baker of St. Louis; 3 sisters, Mrs. Edna Shaver and Mrs. Clara Fern Anderson, both of St. Louis and Mrs. Inez Davis of Walnut Ridge; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m., Saturday in Pyburn Street church of Christ, of which he was a member, with G. W. Allison officiating. Burial followed in Masonic Cemetery with McNabb's in charge. Pallbearers were J. D. Graham, Marion Futrell, Otis Mock, Brance Dawson, Bob Harvester and Junior Wooldridge. (PSH Obituary)
