The headstone reads: Susanah Gleason Died October 19, 1881, 52Y. 1M. 27D.
Carrie Gleason Died Aug. 27, 1881, 15Y. 1M. 1D.

Susanah Kizer was born in Pennsylvania on September 22, 1828. At age twenty, she married John Gleason. This union was blessed with six children who were all born in Pennsylvania. Carrie was born in 1866 and came to Stafford County at age fourteen.

There is no mention of the death of Carrie in the newspapers, although The Larned Eagle-Optic of September 30, 1881, reads: "Mrs. Gleason is lying very low with typhoid fever. . .". She passed away on October 19, 1881.

Typhoid is contagious and can be spread through contact with other family members. It is highly possible that Carrie fell ill with typhoid and passed away on August 27, 1881. As her mother was probably the caretaker, she became sick and died on October 19, 1881. They share the same stone in Point View Cemetery.
