Mrs. Emma F. Schweitzer, age 96, a former Kiel resident died Monday morning at Willowdale Nursing Home, New Holstein, where she was a resident for 2 ½ years. She is the former Emma Stauber, born Sept. 1, 1892 in the Town of Eaton, daughter of the late Ignatius and Theresa Glaser Stauber. She attended the former Elder Grove School in the town of Eaton. On July 15, 1912 she married Louis Schweitzer at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. The couple farmed in the town of Eaton until 1943 when they moved to Kiel. He died Jan. 3, 1961. She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel and the Church Christian Mothers.
Survivors include 7 sons; Leo (Alma), Robert (Clara), Bernard (Marion) all of Kiel; Lawrence (Hildegard) of Naranja, FL, Alphones (Helen) of Franksville, WI, LeRoy and (Delores) of Elkhart Lake, Sylvester (Bernice) of Amberg, WI, 2 daughters, Mrs. David (Valeria) Bradley of Whitter, CA, and Mrs. Armella Walber of New Holstein; 47 grandchildren, 111 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren, 1 sister, Mrs. Annie Voss of Kiel. She was preceded in death by 1 daughter, 5 grandchildren, 1 sister, 2 brothers.
Funeral mass will be at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiel with the Reverend Thomas Leannah, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
