Daniel Stump was born in Starke County, Indiana, Feb 27, 1885, and passed away at his home in Edison, Dec 6 1928 at the age of 73 years, 10 months & 9 days.

He moved with his parents to Iowa and later coming to Nebraska in 1873.

He homesteaded on Turkey Creek, Northeast of Edison.

He was untied in marriage to Nancy L Osborn at New Era, Nebraska, October 4, 1877.

To this union were six children, three of whom died in infancy.

One daughter, Lulu, preceded him in 1904.

He leaves to mourn his loss a grief stricken wife, one daughter, Effie and son, Lester, both of Edison; four grandchildren, Marshall and Wayne, of Edison, Zelma Hughes, of Sheridan, Montana; and Orie Strickland, of Alden, Montana; five great-grandchildren and one brother, Abe Stump of Edison.

He spent 33 years of hardship and toil on his homestead north of Edison. In the spring of 1910 with his wife and son he moved to San Louis Valley, Colorado, residing there four years. He then returned to his farm north of Edison in the spring of 1915, where he lived until the spring of 1942 when he moved to Edison where he resided until his death.

He leaves to sympathize with the immediate family a large host of friends and relatives.

Funeral services were held at the Christian Church in Edison on Saturday, Dec 8, 1928, Conducted by Rev A W Ahrendts, of Oxford. Interment was made in the Stump Cemetery north of Edison.
