Mrs. Tekla (Bilska) Grzyb, 58, mother of five sons in the armed forces, died Monday night at her home, 24 Chestnut Street, following a long illness. All five sons were home for a few days on emergency furloughs about a year ago, when their mother was taken seriously ill. They coming apparently gave her a new lease of life, and her condition improved.
Two of the boys are now overseas. In the service are Pvt. Theodore, Camp Maxey, Tex.; Pfc. Louis and Pvt. Adolph, overseas; Edward, second class gunner's mate, in the Navy and Henry, first class seaman, at Mayport, Fla.
Four other sons also survive, John, Frank, William and Anthony of Dudley; also two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Gelineau and Helen Grzyb of this town; a brother and sister in Michigan and a brother and three sisters in Poland, also eight grandchildren. Her husband, Vincent Grzyb, also survives.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Society of St. Joseph's Church.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning from the home, with a high mass of requiem in St. Joseph's Church at 9 o'clock. Burial will be in the family lot in the parish cemetery, in charge of Frank P. Brezniak.
