Charles W. WALTERS, 89, R.R. 5, Rochester, died Sunday (May 27, 1972) at 8:15 a.m. in Woodlawn hospital. Born Jan. 19, 1883, in Fulton county, he was the son of Joseph and Catherine SLIFE WALTERS and had spent most of his life in this county. His marriage was in March, 1904, at Rochester to Media HOLLOWAY, who died in 1968. A retired farmer, Mr. Walters was a member of the former Sand Hill United Methodist church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Edith OVERMYER, R.R. 5, Rochester; Mrs. James (Bernice) CUMMINS and Mrs. Anna DeMARCO, both of this city; two sons, Ernest WALTERS, R.R. 5, Rochester, and Elmer WALTERS, New Haven, Ind.; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Charles (Anne) KERR, Bradenton, Fla. Preceding in death were one son and two grandchildren.
Last rites will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the Foster & Good funeral home with the Rev. John WORTINGER officiating. Burial will be in the Richland Center I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. Memorials other than flowers are to be made to the cancer fund.
