Befriended The James Boys.

Mrs. Agnes Linson, Missouri Pioneer, Dead at Advanced Age.

Mrs. Agnes Linson, 85 years old, in the early days of Missouri a friend of the James boys, died at the home of her son, E. T. Linson, on the Kansas side, yesterday. Mrs. Linson, with her husband, Edward Linson and family lived on a farm seven miles southeast of Lee's Summit, Mo. The Linson farm was close to a heavy timber, which was a rendezvous for the James gang.

The James boys often rode up in the middle of the night and asked the Linsons for food. Their requests were never denied. Jesse James and his followers never forgot Mrs. Linson's kindness. Her husband bought and sold cattle and often rode through the country with large sums of money. On many of these occasion he met the gang at night but never was molested.

Two sons, E. T. Linson, with whom Mrs. Linson lived, J. M. Linson of Independence, Mo., and one daughter, Mrs. Flora L. Sadler of Humboldt, Kas., survive. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the First Methodist Church at Independence; burial will be in the Lee's Summit Cemetery.
