Mary Ann Alcorn McQuerry was the daughter of George Alcorn (1760-1833) and Winnea Ingram (1779-1857) and the wife of Charles Ingram McQuerry (1802-1866). She was also the mother of six sons--William McQuerry, M. D. (1833-1909), George McQuerry (1838-1864), James "Big Jim" Commodore McQuerry (1838-1912), a Texas Ranger in Palo Pinto County, Texas, Simeon McQuerry (1840-1842), Alfred Anson McQuerry (1842-1906), and Charles Ingram McQuerry (1846-1914), and one daughter, Elizann McQuerry (1835-1835).
Mary Ann died at the home of a sister, Minerva Cantrel Mills Alcorn Baccus of Plano, Collin, Texas, falling ill on the McQuerry family's journey from Kentucky to Texas. In addition to Minerva Alcorn Baccus (1810-1887), Mary Ann had one other sister, Martha Alcorn McCaw (1796-1835) and three brothers--James Alcorn (1801-1874), Charles Ingram Alcorn (1811-1877) and John Perry Alcorn (1815-1876)
