J. J. Castleberry, Taken By Death; Rites Wednesday

J. J. Castleberry, 81, Ellenton, died Monday at 10:15 a.m. at Cook County Hospital after an illness of seven weeks.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Evergreen Baptist Church in Cook County.

The Rev. John J. Weeks will officiate and burial will be in Rountree Cemetery.

The body will remain at the family residence until placed in the church one hour before the funeral.

Born November 17, 1886 in Colquitt County, Mr. Castleberry had lived in Ellenton for the past 35 years.

He was a pulpwood worker before his retirement. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Castleberry.

Survivors include his widow; four sons, Ervin, Gilbert Castleberry, Buddy Castleberry, all of Ellenton, Bishop Castleberry, Rossville, Ga.; five daughters, Mrs. S. B. Whittington, Cordele, Mrs. Sara Conley, Orlando, Fla., Mrs. Era Bivins, Moultrie, Mrs. Wade Hamilton, Mrs. Alberta Castleberry, both of Ellenton; two brothers, John Castleberry, Ellenton, Nelson Castleberry, Moultrie.

Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also survive.
