Mary Hall Burlend born 13 January 1815 in Horsforth, Yorkshire, England to John D and Rebecca (Burton) Burlend. Mary did not emigrate with her parents in 1831 but remained in England. On 10 February 1840 in Sandal, West Yorkshire, England, she married Luke Yelliott II. Mary and family immigrated to the U.S. arriving 1 November 1843 in New Orleans, Orleans Co., Louisiana. She would live the remainder of her life in Detroit, Pike Co., Illinois. To Luke and Mary were born 9 children: – infant boy (died young), Rebecca, Sarah J, Annetta, John Burlend, Luke W., Jr., William, Edward Burton, and Mary Ann. Mary died 5 January 1889 in Detroit, Pike Co., Illinois. She was buried 7 January 1899 in Bethel Cemetery, Newburg, Pike Co., Illinois.
