Cappy was a foster child of William E. McCaffrey and Martha M. Pierce. She married Samuel V. Hanes, a son of David Q. Hanes and his wife, Nancy C. Moore. Their wedding took place in Toledo (Lucas County), Ohio on June 26, 1940. They had two daughters and one son. Cappy and Casey had the most loving relationship. Love beamed from their entire bodies when they were together. Their undying love for one another lifted them through hardships, good times and bad. Truly theirs was a marriage made in Heaven.
