MR. AND MRS. D. B. HART TO CELEBRATE TOMORROW

Carthage Couple Were Married 50 Years Ago in House in Which They Still Live


Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Hart, 611 East Seventh street, will observe their golden wedding anniversary at a family dinner party tomorrow at their home.
Mr. and Mrs. Hart were married on Thanksgiving Day, November 29, 1883 in the house in which they now live on East Seventh street and they have continued to make that their home since. Mr. Hart was born in Oregon, MO., and came here with his parents when he was seven years of age. Mrs. Hart was born in Circleville, Ohio and moved here in 1880. Both are now 72 years old.
Mr. Hart was engaged for many years as a carriage painter and in later years operated a grocery here. He was a member of the old Light Guard.
Four generations will be present for the celebration. They are Mr. and Mrs. Hart, their daughter, Mrs. Inez Kirby; her daughter, Mrs. Ramah Helen Phillips, and the latter's daughter, Patricia Jean, 4 years old.
Mr. and Mrs. Hart also have a son, John Hart, who makes his home with his parents. About 15 relatives will attend the dinner. Friends are invited to call during the afternoon.

MRS. D. B. HART DEAD AT 74
LONG TIME RESIDENT LONG IN ILL HEALTH

Came to Carthage as Girl of 19 - Funeral Will Be Tomorrow Afternoon.


Mrs. Mary Horning Hart, almost 74, a resident of Carthage about 55 years, was found dead at her home, 611 East Seventh street.
She had been in failing health a year, suffering from a heart ailment.
While her condition had been serious the last three months, she had been able to be up some.
Mrs. Hart was born July 15, 1861 in Circleville, Ohio. Her parents died when she was small. She came to Carthage at the age of 19 years of age years and had lived here since Mrs. Hart was married November 29, 1883 to D. B. Hart in the home where she passed away and had lived there continuously since. Mr. Hart was a member of the old Carthage Light Guard.
The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in November, 1933.
She became a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, South, soon after coming to Carthage and was considered an outstanding Christian character. She was a woman who was beloved by all who knew her and well-known for her kindly deeds.
Mrs. Hart is survived by her husband, D. B. Hart; a daughter, Mrs. Inez Kirby, and a son, John Wesley Hart, both at home; a granddaughter, Mrs. Charles E. Phillips of Tulsa, Okla., and a great-granddaughter, Patty Jean Phillips. A son, Harry Hart, died December 21, 1914. Mrs. Hart's only brother, George Horning, died several years ago in Galena, Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. Phillips and daughter, Patty Jean, arrived here yesterday afternoon.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, at the Knell service home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

MARY H. HART resided at 611 East 7th Street, Carthage.
She passed away from kidney failure and arteriosclerosis at her home. She was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Knell Mortuary
