30 Jan 1922: The Myerstown Reformed Church lost two of its members through death over the weekend. They are Mrs. Sarah Kilmer and Ephraim L. Bleistein, who died but twelve hours apart. It is also a coincidence that they were closely related, Mrs. Kilmer having been a sister of Mr. Bleistein's wife. Arrangements are being made for a double funeral to be held Thursday afternoon, also an unusual occurrence. Mrs. Kilmer, whose maiden name was Behney, was the widow of Ezra Kilmer, whose death occurred in 1879. She was aged 73 years and was taken ill only a week ago, with bronchial pneumonia, and from the first, her case became a serious one. Two children survive: Rev. Harvey Kilmer, a Presbyterian minister, residing at Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Elvy, wife of Samuel P. Beekey, of town, with whom Mrs. Kilmer had her home. She also leaves a brother, Henry Behney, of Newark, N. J., and Mrs. Lorenna Bleistein, of town. The funeral will take place on Thursday afternoon, at two o'clock, from the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Beekey, West Main Avenue, [Lebanon Daily News]
