Smasal, Peter (Dec. 23, 1876-March 1, 1942 –husband of Helen Loos [married May 13, 1902 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel] –son of Thomas Smasal and Barbara Fitzdum –born St. Killian, Fond du Lac County –farmer in Town of Eaton –Peter and Helen lived at the Smasal homestead in St. Killian, Fond du Lac County until 1906, when they moved to the Mathias Loos farm in the Town of Schleswig [this being the home farm of Peter’s wife, Helen Loos] –in 1914 they sold this farm to Edward Lulloff and moved to St. Nazianz –on April 28, 1919 purchased the 40 acre farm on the NE corner of the intersection of County C and Greendale Road in Section 24, Town of Eaton –Helen lived on this farm until her death on April 2, 1938 –Peter lived here until his death in 1942 –this farm was then sold to the Salvatorian Fathers, with the farmstead then razed –died from “carcinoma of the scalp with generalized carcinomatosis, 15 years”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 2, Row 15, Lot 32 –stone] [marriage record Manitowoc 7-211] [death record Manitowoc 35-24]

Tuesday, at the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Father Schmitz united in marriage Mr. Peter Smasal from St. Kilian, Fond du Lac County and Miss Helene Loos, daughter of Mr. Matth. Loos from Town Schleswig. A big wedding celeberation followed at the home of the bride’s parents.
Wedding attendants were John Peterschick, Conrad Loos, Josephine Loos and Margaretha Smasal.
