Charles Richard "Dick" Sharp, age 72, died peacefully on October 5, 2002 at his home in Mesquite, NV.
Born July 26, 1930 to Stephen and Mary Hannah Wells Sharp in Montpelier, Idaho. Married Luanne Beckstead, June 30, 1952 in Salt Lake City UT.
Later sealed in the Oakland LDS Temple. Dick grew up in Midvale, UT. He raised his family in Utah, California and Montana. He retired to Mesquite in 1994. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a professional baker, managing bakeries for Albertsons, Safeway and Harmons. He owned his own bakery and deli at Reams. After moving to Mesquite, he baked at Si Redds Oasis Casino for seven years. He enjoyed raising horses, hunting and fishing. Dick's greatest joy came from being with his family. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Luanne of Mesquite; one son, Rick (Janalyn) Sharp of Pahrump, NV; four daughters, Debbi Stillwell of Mesquite; Marci (David) Markus of Draper, UT; Patti Ballow of Mesquite; Becki (Luis) Lopez of Ely, NV; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Alexander (Shirley) Sharp of Midvale, UT; four sisters, Agnes Knowles of Idaho; Edna (Norman) Hendrix of Wells, NV; Amy (Bob) Crigger of Colorado and Alberta (Henry) Galvan of Mesquite. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Graveside services with military honors will be held Saturday Oct. 12, at 1 p.m., South Jordan, UT Cemetery. Visitation will be at Virgin Valley Mortuary, 320 Old Mill Road, in Mesquite, NV, on Friday Oct. 11, 2002 from 9 - 10 a.m. and at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State St., Midvale, UT, on Sat., 11 - 12 noon.
