My paternal great grandmother. She died when my grandmother was a child. Not much is known about her, other than what I have discovered in my quest to find her. According to her death certificate (which there are two of) she died due to child birth. With the help of an angel, I have an article from the Coconino Sun dated March 9, 1917 that states she died giving birth to twins. Further confirmed in the Tombstone Weekly Epitaph, “without medical attention and without even a bed, Nicanora Guerrero, wife of Bruno Guerrero of Flagstaff died in a shack in Mexican quarters on the southeast side of the track after giving birth to twins, one of whom died with her”. Apparently, since there was no physician present a coroner inquiry was made.

My grandmother has since passed away, but remembered her for many years and was always saddened that she could never bring her flowers.

It is my mission to find her final resting place and honor my grandmothers last wish.

Her father: Antonio Garcia
Her mother: Refugio Cabral
Her husband: Bruno Guerrero
