Virgil W. Beavers, a retired athletics businessman, died Monday at a Fort Worth hospital
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth. Burial will be in Laurel Land Memorial Park.
Mr. Beavers had lived in Fort Worth since 1943.
He was an army veteran of World War II and had received the Purple Heart and Silver Star.
Survivors: Wife of 49 years, Fern Beavers of Fort Worth; daughter, Linda Lauderdale of Arlington; two brothers, Eldon Beavers of Fort Worth and Vernon Beavers of Longview; and two grandchildren, Michael and Jennifer.
