Evadell Kirk, age 81 of Baxter Springs, KS passed from this life Saturday, April 4, 2009 at her home in Baxter Springs.
Evadell was born July 1, 1927 in Galena, KS to the union of Emert and Zora Dell (Ragsdale) Fichtner.
She graduated from Galena High School in 1945. Classmates she attended school with had monthly dinners that Evadell enjoyed attending.
She was united in marriage August 24, 1946 in Columbus, Ks to George Kirk Jr.
She worked as an Avon representative for 54 years and was a member of the Avon Honors Society and was a lifetime member of the President’s Club. She was a member of the Baxter Springs Senior Citizens Club. She attended Tennessee Prairie Friends Church in Baxter Springs.
Evadell is preceded in death by her parents Emert and Zora Dell Fichtner; her husband George Kirk Jr.; one brother Mervin Fichtner; one sister Wandalee Farris; one grandson Mason McWatters.
Survivors include one daughter Kathy McWatters and husband Ranny of Quapaw, Ok; one son Robert Kirk and wife Barbara of Excelsior Springs, Mo; two brothers Alvin Fichtner and wife Gladys of Baxter Springs, Ks, Keith Fichtner of Riverton, Ks. Three grandchildren Karri Yosick, Jeff Kirk, Macy McWatters; Six great grandchildren Aidan McWatters, Ace McWatters, Kenedee Yosick, Kolten Kirk, Kaylea McDaniel, Kaleb McDaniel.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Derfelt's Baxter Chapel, Baxter Springs, Ks. Burial will follow in the Baxter Springs Cemetery. Family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Derfelt's Baxter Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Derfelt's Baxter Chapel, Baxter Springs, Ks.
