Austin, Stanley -
Stanley Austin, 71, died at the Rosary hospital in Corning Saturday, January 20th, after having suffered a stroke Monday. Mr. Austin was the youngest son of Merritt and Sarah Linbaugh Austin and was born at Grant City, Missouri Feb. 10, 1897. He died at the age of 70 years, 11 months and 19 days.
He was united in marriage at Mt. Ayr, Iowa to Phoebe McHenry on July 4, 1917. To this union two sons were born George of Lenox, Iowa and Claude of Des Moines, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Ralph, Ray, Fred, Earl and Roy. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, two sons, and two daughters-in-law, Lois and Eloise. One brother, William of Redding, Iowa, nephews, nieces and other relatives and a host of friends.
Stanley was a kind and loving father and husband and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services were conducted from the Bender Funeral Home in Lenox, Monday, January 22nd at 2 p. m., with Rev. Floyd Newbrough, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating.
Bearers were Gene Rogers, Larry Rogers, Hugh McCall, Kenneth Young and Walter Stapleton.
Burial was in Fairview cemetery.
