Married Matura Emeroy Haight 11-10-1886. Martin was the son of Robert Alworth & Bridget Coady & was born near LaCrescent, MN. Martin & Matura moved to Mankato in 1904 & Martin returned to Watertown to live shortly after Matura's death. Before coming to Watertown, Martin took part in the Black Hills Gold Rush. Martin was a clerk in an "all-night" grocery store while Matura was a tailoress. At that time Watertown was the terminus of the railroad & all claim settlers stocked up there before setting out to prove their claims during the land rush.
Martin & Matura had 11 children.
