Allie Poole was born 1880 in St. Mary's (Auburn), Wake County, NC, the youngest of 2 known surviving children (both girls) born to Hezekiah "Hezzie" Poole and his (1st) wife Elizabeth "Betty" Sturdivant (1849-1884). Her older sister Lelia Bland Poole is buried in Raleigh.
She was the paternal grandchild of Calvin Poole & Catherine Green; and maternal grandchild of Allen Sturdivant & Elizabeth Griffis, all of Wake Co.
Allie was just a small child when her mother died, and her father very soon married (2nd) to Lillie Brook "Mammy" Ferrell by whom six more children were born. Allie was raised by her stepmother and grew up with her sister and half-siblings in St. Mary's (Auburn).
She was about 19 years old when she married 25-year old Troy Stallings. The couple farmed in St. Mary's (Auburn) and were parents to 5 known children:
* Mable Stallings (1902-1906)
* Nat Rand Stallingns (1904-1993)
* Alma Lee Stallings EVANS (1909-1989)
* Elsie Stallings Chambers (1916-2007)
